The 2019 basketball season is in full force. So far this season our boy’s basketball team has been giving it everything they have to recover from a slow start. On Tuesday night, the Mustangs faced off against Albert Gallatin in a huge section game. Going in the Mustang’s were 2-9, and a win would set them in fifth place. The Mustangs jumped on AG early splashing four 3-point shots midway through the first quarter. AG wouldn’t back down without a fight, pulling within one point at halftime. In the third quarter the Mustangs capitalized on a few of the Colonials mistakes, which ultimately led to a 58-45 lead at the end of the third.
The Mustangs came out in the final quarter of the game and two players made a big impact on the outcome of the game. Keandre Cook went 7 for 8 at the foul line, while Junior Selauca put up six points, including a two-handed slam dunk. The Mustangs would go on to defeat AG for a big 77-67 win. The Mustangs hope to feel the same rhythm as they continue their push for the playoffs.
