The Mini Mighty Mustangs program got off to an auspicious start when, on October 17th 2018, they had an amazing red carpet community event featuring the world premiere screening of a brand new episode of “The Wild Kratts,” sponsored by WQED. Kids of all ages and parents came to Laurel Highlands High School to participate in various fun activities and displays such as reptile room, face painting, snacks, games, arts and crafts, prizes, and reading. It was so amazing to see the exciting, inspired faces on today’s youth. The program, under Curriculum Director Mr. Randy Miller and Assistant to Curriculum Director Director of Federal Programs Eric Gaydos, put in their hard work and smiling faces to help in our community and inspire young children. The Mini Mighty Mustangs program is all about inspiring young children to develop a love of reading and to build a strong community. One of their goals is to increase communication between schools and families. They really achieved this goal that night by bringing smiles and excitement to kids and bringing together families and students to help out.
